Once you've chosen the most appropriate status for your business, you need to register your company with the Registre du Commerce, paying stamps and search fees of around 200 Dirhams. Once your company has been registered, the articles of association must be filed within 30 days with the Registrar's Office of the Court of 1st Instance in the town concerned. For corporations such as SAs or SARLs, the subscription funds must be deposited with the bank in order to obtain an attestation de blocage des fonds, which will be sent to the notary to formalize and confirm the payment. Before commencing any activity, all companies, whatever their status, must be registered with the Tax Department of the Ministry of Finance.
This is followed by registration in the Trade Register, registration for corporation tax or IRG for sole proprietorships, registration with the Labor Inspectorate, registration with the Social Security Fund and, finally, filing an announcement with the Court Registry for publication in the Journal Officiel.
